Our Heritage The Swiss Colony began by shipping 50 packages of cheese as Christmas gifts in 1926, and eventually built the country’s largest hand-decorating bakery. Founded by Ray Kubly in 1926, we started out selling fine Wisconsin cheeses and eventually added sausages, hams and handcrafted baked goods and confections.
